James Cattanach Photographer & Backcountry Adventurer
James Cattanach moved to Canada from Aberdeen, Scotland in 2007, after completing his degree in Astrophysics at the University of Edinburgh. He took a break from studies to experience a ski season in Whistler. The initial plan to stay for six months was abandoned when he discovered all the region had to offer. A badly broken leg in 2010 motivated him to take up photography so that he could stay involved in the activities he enjoyed and now he works full time as a professional photographer shooting skiing, portraits, wildlife and events making Canada his permanent home. His photography takes him all over Western Canada each year, and he enjoys the easy access to wilderness on our doorstep and a unique lifestyle and community. I love to explore by ski, snowmobile and mountain bike. @jamescattanach
